Empiric Health is the definition of a team — everyone’s opinion matters, and everyone’s contributions are critical to our success. Every single team member is united by a common goal — to improve the state of healthcare through immersive service and innovative technology solutions. Our team is comprised of experienced healthcare specialists, from nurses to management consultants to data specialists and beyond. Our most important shared trait, however, is the desire and ability to work together as one to achieve greatness.
Empiric Health offers generous benefits, an engaging work atmosphere where everyone can make a difference, and the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in healthcare.
As a Data Analyst on the Empiric Health team, you will be expected to work on new and existing projects, function independently within a fast-paced environment, work on several different projects/tasks concurrently and serve as a data advisor to both internal and external stakeholders. Projects will involve the retrieval of data from different source systems and writing queries against our own database as well as those of customers. This role requires complex data visualizations. The analyst will have the ability to leverage comprehension of mathematical and statistical concepts, computer science, and domain expertise to meet analytic requirements. Data Analysts will use their technical and analytical expertise to explore and examine healthcare data from multiple sources in support of the Empiric Health mission of improving outcomes and decreasing costs.
In this role, you’ll spend the majority of your time dedicated to our client engagements. While most of this work will be remote, you may need to travel to the client site (less than 20% travel in total can be expected).
You will spend most of your time in client-facing situations, engaging with physicians, administrators and other clinicians to discuss data (produced mostly in our proprietary analytics tool). You should be comfortable with reviewing, analyzing and interpreting data. But you should also know how to communicate the insights from that data in a crisp and compelling narrative. You need to be clinically fluent, confident but compassionate, and comfortable communicating with (and influencing) a wide variety of stakeholders.
As a critical part of the Empiric Health consulting team, you will work closely with a variety of team members. You will need to collaborate with the Engagement Director(s), other Clinical Empiricists and other consulting team resources. While some of this collaboration may occur on the client site, much of your internal communication will occur remotely.
In addition to your client-based activities, you will regularly get involved in product design and testing, methodology and training material development, and education and coaching of other team members. You’ll likely get pulled into business development opportunities with prospective clients so presentation skills and strong oral communication are key.
In this role, you’ll spend the majority of your time onsite with our clients for the duration of an engagement (~2-4 years). Therefore, you should be willing to relocate to a client site or travel most weeks to engage and collaborate with our clients.

You will need to be able to create, manage and grow a remote team whose performance exceeds the expectations of our clients.
In addition to your client-based activities, you will have assigned responsibilities in methodology development, recruiting and developing new services and products. You will regularly get involved in product design and testing, business development activities and marketing collateral development.
